Adult Faith Formation

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

The Bishops of the United States of America have
designated Adult Faith Formation as a priority for the
entire Church. It is with this direction that we begin
the second year of a three year adult program of consecutive
instruction specifically tailored to the needs of our
parishioners, following the guidelines implemented by the
Archdiocese of Seattle. Teachers from our own parish and
periodic guest teachers from the Archdiocese will present
a series of classes allowing Catholics to better, know,
understand, and grow in their faith.

Catholic truth is an eternal font of beauty and love where faithful Catholics never stop growing. At Saint Mary Star of the Sea, we are committed to exploring this beauty and love as we journey together as disciples of the Lord. Coming to know and love Christ and His Church in a life-changing way is not simply the work of young children in a classroom. The Church encourages parents, as first teachers of their children, and all the faithful to recall the statement:
"Lex Orandi, Lex Credendi, Lex Vivendi,"
denoting that we believe as we live! We set the example by our actions!

Catholic faithful are called to encounter Jesus Christ in the sacraments and share His love with others. It is this call that encourages us to participate in a life of prayer and service, inspired by the teachings and truths of Holy Mother Church.

You are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity for spiritual growth. We know in our hearts that to learn Christ is to love him. When you love Jesus, you begin to share in the very life of God! Please feel free to contact us for additional information. May God bless you on your journey of faith!

May God bless you on your journey of faith!
