The Twenty-Fourth Sunday

in Ordinary Time

Our Mission…

To celebrate God's presence in our midst by Mass, Sacraments, and Prayer;
To live Christ's love by serving others, especially the poor, neglected, and suffering;
To grow in the truths and values of our Catholic Tradition, teach them to our children, and proclaim them to those who do not know them.

The findings of the Pennsylvania Grand Jury and the news of abuse by Archbishop McCarrick have devastated the Church in recent days and have left many Catholics feeling deeply angry, disturbed, and hurting.  Archbishop Sartain has requested, in addition to a prayer service to be held at St. James Cathedral in Seattle at 7:00 pm on October 4, that a NOVENA OF PRAYER TO MARY, MOTHER OF THE CHURCHbe said throughout the Archdiocese of Seattle beginning the evening of October, and concluding with the weekend Masses on October 13/14.

The Novena will be held from 6-7:00 pm each night at St. Mary's in the church.  All are encouraged to join either at church or in your homes.  The purpose of the Novena is to pray for all victims of clergy sexual abuse, ask forgiveness for the sins of action and inaction on the part of the Church leaders, and to pray for the renewal the Church needs to protect the vulnerable and proclaim Christ's Gospel with transparency and integrity.
